The daily planning and groups are up on the wall and include 4 social groupings. We are mixing the kids and rotate the teachers and kids.

Kea
Kea team has continued with the Waka model and this has helped with new students. We have been using oral language approach i.e on Mondays we have a STEAM challenge. We are trying to make sure the tasks are rich and increase their vocabulary.
Kea want to continue using the geographic phenomena and will be moving towards planet earth and beyond. Kea are also using choice cards for the Waka workshops and the island.
Hoiho
In term 2 the teachers were planning together but teaching separately and swapping around the teachers. Teachers wanted to stay in a unit of work for 2 to 3 weeks.

They also used whare mahi tahi (working in room 4). Teachers are using big books and Students are using the blends and writing prompts. Phil Margetts has been working with year 4 blogs and year 3s are experiencing the use of chromebooks through the cybersmart curriculum. Kea kids also have come and practice blogging - Tuakaba Teina. Some of the high needs children are also being mixed across the class rooms.
